Good to Den Sidste Dråbe

Have you ever felt nervous to go into a really top-notch liquor store because, well, you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about? Well, philistines, worry no more, because Den Sidste Dråbe (The Last Drop) is here for you.

“When we opened in 2014, we wanted to create a space where everyone would feel comfortable asking questions or learning about these kinds of drinks,” co-owner and Manager Naja tells me. She and her husband Frederik are doing that with a laid-back shop atmosphere and a whole lot of knowledge that they’re eager to share.

Originally meant to function as an office and showroom for Frederik’s small-batch vodka brand Den Klodsede Bjørn (The Klumsy Bear), the pair soon saw that they had room to showcase more of the independent and small-batch brands that they love.

In addition to selling Den Klodesede Bjorn, makers like Purity Vodka, Nikka Whiskey and Mondino Amaro, the shop holds tastings. This is a way for people to discover the brands they sell as well as learn more about these liquors in general. Though they do have scheduled events, they can also be booked for private tastings. A fan favorite is their “Around the World White Tastings” that focuses on “white” liquors like gin, vodka and clear whisky (apparently that’s a thing! See, you’re learning so much already).

If all that wasn’t enough, Den Sidste Dråbe has also created the cutest alcohol-centric packages of all time, including tiny bottles of gin and tonic that create an on-the-go cocktail perfect for a picnic, and literary gift-bags like The Great Gatsby and a bottle of gin.

So next time you’re looking for a quality tipple or a way to combine your favorite book with your favorite cocktail (who isn’t?), you know where to go.
