Party in a Post: Distortion Festival 2015

The self-described “orchestrated chaos” of Distortion Festival is back and ready to take over Copenhagen from 3rd to 7th June.

A city staple since 1998, this is the first year that the street festivals will pair with Distortion Club‘s ticketed intimate concerts and a 2-day rave at Refshaleøen, called Distortion Ø.

As for the street parties – if you live anywhere inside Copenhagen you won’t be able to miss them. They hit Nørrebro on Wednesday, Vesterbro on Thursday and Copenhagen Harbour on Friday.

Distortion has been a masterclass in how to have a bangin’ time from its first year. While the spirit of the parties has remained intact – these street festivals reach insane proportions – they’ve had to develop ways to be self-sustaining. Purchasing armbands, which can be done around online or the city, helps them to maintain a secretariat and clean-up post-fest. Now, the ticketed Distortion Club and Distortion Ø will hopefully secure their place as a yearly oasis for the club scene.

So, to quote the title of my favourite Christian Slater film: pump up the volume! Here’s your Distortion playlist:
