Six Things To Do at 3 Days of Design 2017

Copenhagen’s annual lifestyle and interior design event “3 Days of Design” is running from 1 – 3 June this year, and it’s gonna be a good one. With dozens of brands opening up their showrooms, holding events, talks and tours, you’re sure to find a way to experience some of the best design of the Danish capital, whether you’re in the industry or not.

For those who want to take part but aren’t sure where to start, here are the events we recommend:

Thursday 1st June

By Lassen: “Kubus – The Making of an Icon”

Hear Søren Lassen, the grandson of architect Magnus Lassen, give a talk on how the iconic Kubus candleholder is made. This will be interesting for designers and interior-lovers alike!

Muuto: Designer Talk with Cecilie Manz & Christian Grossen

Muuto’s head of design, Christian Grossen, and Danish designer Cecilie Manz will give a talk on Scandinavian design and the Muuto process in their gorgeous penthouse showroom in the centre of Copenhagen. A treat for the showroom alone!

Saturday 3rd June

Visit the Frama Studio Apartment

Open for the first time since it was built in 2012, the home of Niels Strøyer Christofersen is the aesthetic window into the Frama universe. This is an apartment that’s been featured in all the major magazines and you don’t want to miss seeing it in-person. The building itself – a 1905 Østerbro beauty – is worthwhile too.

Strandboulevarden 21
2100 København Ø
12:00 – 4:00 pm
Entrance is free

Designmuseum Danmark: The Danish Chair

Take a tour through history of the many chairs that make up Denmark’s storied past (and present) with this everyday, elevated item. The exhibit attempts to explain how “the Danish chair” went from humble to the world stage. A very cool exhibit for those interested in design, furniture, and for kids as well.

Designmuseum Danmark
Bredgade 68
1260 København K
10: 00 am – 5:00 pm
Entrance is free
