What’s On in Copenhagen: July 2020

July in Copenhagen means one thing: summer! The days seem endless, the sun is glittering on the water, and the pace of life is a little bit slower than usual. As many evacuate the city for their summer houses elsewhere, we’re left with a playground of events and things to do in a city that’s all our own. Flea markets and concerts are moving under the open sky, bars and restaurants have put up tables on streets and in cozy courtyards, and people are coming together again. While the weather’s good, stay outside, and when the rain comes, head to any one of the exhibitions we gathered for this month’s calendar.

Here’s what’s on in Copenhagen this July, including flea markets, jazz concerts, exhibitions, and events:

Wednesday 1st July

Community of Parting & Omkring Floden Han by Korea Klubben

Korea Klubben is hosting a cross-artistic event featuring visual artist Jane Jin Kaisen, whose art exhibition Community of Parting has just opened at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, and playwright and poet Joan Rang, who has just released her debut poetry collection Omkring Floden Han.

At 5 pm, the group meets in front of Kunsthal Charlottenborg to see the exhibition and at 7 pm, the evening continues with dinner at Sakura, Møntergade 22. Joan will read from Omkring Floden Han and the artists will have an informal conversation about the overlapping themes of their practices, including adoption, art, and the effects of the Korean War.
