Iceland Airwaves has long been considered one of the best music festivals around, remaining just under-the-radar enough for 15 years to remain cool, while still attracting incredible acts from both Iceland and around the world. Started in 1999, the first iteration took place in a Reykjavik Airport hangar. It’s only gotten better since and continues to grow year after year, while maintaining its intimate, quirky core.
