There’s something special about Copenhagen in July: the days seem endless and the pace of daily life slows down as, almost ironically, many locals leave the city to spend some time in their summer houses in the countryside or to chase sunshine abroad. Meanwhile, it’s peak tourist season with international visitors seeking to soak up the particular magic of Scandinavian summer and to escape the heat at home. Those who stay in the Danish capital are tempted to settle into the vacation mode that the city exudes this time of year, lining up waterside to enjoy the golden light that stretches far into the evening.
