Wednesday 2nd May
Manga Lecture at Stadsbiblioteket Stockholm
This lecture is on manga, a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels. Lecturer Dr. Jaqueline Berndt will focus on the artist Kouno Fumiyo. The lecture is free and in English.
Thursday 3rd May
HOPE Sample Sale

Friday 4th May
It’s Raining for Space at Cinemateket
It’s Raining for Space is a film directed by Mel Brooks. You may know it by the original title: Spaceballs. The movie is a parody of Star Wars that George Lucas himself enjoyed. The movie is in English with Swedish subtitles; tickets cost 80 SEK. Enjoy, and May the 4th be with you!
Saturday 5th May
Täby Park Food Market
Celebrate spring in Täby Park with wholesome, homemade food in the old log building. If you wish to have a table for your own goods at the market, the cost is 595 SEK. While you’re enjoying the food, take a moment to see what the new district will be like in the upstairs showroom.
Fiesta Casaloca
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Fiesta Casaloca with dancing and a party! The drop-in dance lessons (salsa, kizomba, or bachata) cost 150 SEK, including wardrobe and entrance to the party. If you only want to attend the party, entrance is 100 SEK.
Lesbian Spring Festival at Kägelbanan
One dance floor will have DJ Fride and DJ Gunn, the other Trio Med Vulva, and Dafne Andas will perform live, so let the dancing begin! Pre-order tickets for 200 SEK (including wardrobe) or pay 225 SEK at the door. Listen to the music to get hyped up here.
Sunday 6th May
Women’s Handcrafted Spring Market at Debaser Strand
Over 50 female exhibitors will sell their handicraft at this semi-annual market. If you are inspired after this market and want to display your own work in the future, you can apply to be an exhibitor at their Christmas market.
Macklemore at Gröna Lund
American rapper Macklemore is coming to Stockholm. If you’re interested in attending multiple concerts at Gröna Lund this summer, you may be interested in their Green Card, which permits you entrance throughout the summer season (including concert nights) for 270 SEK. Otherwise, purchase admission to Gröna Lund on 6th May for 120 SEK.
Wednesday 9th – Saturday 12th May
Urban Connection at Dansens Hus
Stockholm’s street dance festival is composed of performances by six choreographer teams, with each performing twice over the course of the four days. Every performance costs 100 SEK. Tickets are going quickly!
Thursday 10th May
EDEN at Debaser Strand
Jonathon Ng is a 21-year old singer/songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. You may know him as The Eden Project, his previous stage name. Ng is on world tour for his debut album, Vertigo, and completes the tour at Debaser Strand! Tickets are 265 SEK.
Friday 11th May
My Favorite Murder Live at China Theater
Are you a Murderino? LA-based comedians Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark, the hosts of popular true crime podcast “My Favorite Murder,” are bringing their off-beat, honest, and occasionally confronting take on true crime to Sweden. Tickets to the show start at 295 SEK. As they say, “Stay sexy. And don’t get killed.”

Tough Viking at Stockholm Stadium
We can’t wait to see those of you brave enough to participate in this obstacle course that is complete with water, electricity, and fire! You can participate as an individual or as a team.
Sunday 13th May
Season Premier Nobelberget Market
Nobelberget Markets are free, have food trucks, music and art. Really, they have everything that you could possibly want for an afternoon out in Stockholm!
Tuesday 15th May
Beckman’s Degree Show at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern
The students from this year’s Fashion Program will show their graduation collections; we can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with! Tickets are released on 2nd May.
Friday 18th May
TAKET at Eriks Gondolen
TAKET is opening for the summer season. This rooftop restaurant has incredible views of Gamla Stan, City Hall, and Gröna Lund. Treat yourself to a dinner out and a spectacular view this month.
Saturday 19th May
Hokusai at Millesgården
Woodcuts from Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai’s series Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji will be displayed for two weeks, beginning 19th May. It is a rare treat for so many of woodcuts (30 of the 36!) to be shown at once because the pieces are scattered among many collections and are light sensitive. This is a wonderful and unique opportunity for art-lovers. Entrance fee is 150 SEK for adults, 120 SEK for students, and free for 18 years and younger.
Friday 25th – Saturday 26th May
Stockholm Burger Fest
Typical burgers, vegan burgers, gluten free burgers: this festival will have any burger you could desire! Entrance is free, and the prices for burgers and drinks will be low.
Saturday 26th May
Caliroots Sneaker Swap Meet at Hotel At Six
At this Sneaker Swap Meet, you’ll have the chance to buy, sell and exchange sneakers. If you are interested in booking a table, your table should mostly consist of sneakers but can also have clothing related to sneaker culture. Entrance is free.

Department at Slakthusområdet
Part 2 of Department 2018 has arrived in the shape of a block party! The festivities begin in the afternoon and continue into the night. There will be an outdoor area, a main stage inside, vegan food trucks, and plenty of performers!
Sunday 27th May
The Recycling Party in Hornstull
This is the largest flea market in the Nordic region, now in its 14th year in Stockholm. Those living in the designated Hornstull area can sell their pastries, clothes, and so on; but of course everyone is welcome to shop!
Tuesday 29th May
Noah Kahan at Obaren
You may recognize Kahan’s name from his recent hit with Julia Michaels, “Hurt Somebody.” As he quickly rises in popularity, we are lucky to have the opportunity to see him at a free concert!
Ongoing in May
Manmade Land at Fotokgrafiska
Hans Strand’s aerial photography focuses on what happens when humans completely reconstruct a space of nature. The results can be quite breathtaking. While you’re there, be sure to see Anna Clarén’s film project titled When Everything Changed; both exhibits close 27th May. The entrance fee is 145 SEK for adults, 115 SEK for students and retirees.
Traveller at Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde
Alexander Klingspor, a painter, currently lives in New York but is originally from Stockholm. His current exhibit at Waldemarsudde is his largest solo exhibition yet, filled with paintings depicting reflections on his urban surroundings. The exhibit closes 27th May; entrance fee to the museum is 150 SEK.
The Horses of Camargue at BAT Gallery
Elizabeth Linder spent several days in the Camargue region of southern France to photograph the wild horses there. BAT Gallery will be showing the gorgeous resulting series through June.
