Six Things to See at Copenhagen Photo Festival 2016

We look forward to the Copenhagen Photo Festival every year for their excellent mix of photography exhibits. Whether you’re into art photography, documentary photography, or exploring the ways in which photography shapes and is shaped by digital media, look no further than these offerings around the city from 2 – 12 June.

Here are the photography exhibitions & events we’re excited about:

Photo City

Previously held at Carlsberg Byen, this year Photo City is in the former Bremerholm Transformer Station. It’s a fantastic venue with multiple floors and spaces to enjoy. Curated by the Copenhagen Photo Festival, the artists featured include Andreas Olesen, PUTPUT collective, Nathalie Daoust and LensCulture (the highly-curated international photography website), plus many more. Entry is only 30 DKK and you get to see it all!

Artist Talk: Ingrid Bugge, “Balletens Indre Rum”

Debate: DIGNITY – Dansk Intitut Mod Tortur

Darkroom Workshop: CPH Silver Lab

If you’ve ever wanted to learn to develop photos in a darkroom but haven’t had the time to devote to it, this one day workshop is for you! Photo Walk: The National Fotomuseum: “Instagram as a Sketchbook” Instawalk with Julie Boserup

Seminar: Tendencies in Contemporary Photography

Take part in two seminars that discuss current trends in and the future of photography while enjoying the gorgeous backdrop of the Black Diamond library. The first seminar is “Photography As Evidence: The Forensic Turn in Photography” and the second is “Body, Self, Fiction: Acting Out Perception, Psychology and Phenomenology.” A full day ticket is 100 DKK and a half day is 60 DKK.
