The White Room: Roon & Rahn’s Aarhus Apartment

Danish design team Roon & Rahn don’t just create great design, they live it. That’s evident in their shard 80 square meter apartment in the charming Latin Quarter of Aarhus, Denmark. Having lived there for three years, they’ve had ample time to decorate, and re-decorate, to their tastes.

A mix of recycled items and carefully curated pops of color, the apartment is a constantly evolving project for the two. “Our favorite thing is always the newest thing; nothing is set in stone,” they explain.

Dutch design is an inspiration to them both; their Friso Krama chairs are the focal point of the dining room. The apartment has been the catalyst for their business: in need of a kitchen table, they built one themselves. It went on to become an award-winning design, and served as the starting point for many more of their designs. The continued design work they put into their apartment has created as much of a showroom as a living space.
