There are things to do for the days when you need some air-conditioning, whether it is a movie or a museum. Monday 1st – Friday 5th July
Summer Course in Theatrical Clowning at Önskehemsgatan 44
In this five-day long course, instructor Jonas Södergren will help each participant develop their own unique expression through theatrical clowning. The course is 2.500 SEK and is available is Swedish or English.
Monday 1st July
Hair at Bio & Bistro Capitol Stockholm
This is the dawning of the age of Aquarius! The 1979 film Hair comes to the cinema again! Claude, the Oklahoma farm boy, goes to New York City to enlist in the U.S. Army, and gets swept into a whirlwind of city life. The film is in English, and tickets start at 160 SEK.

Open Air Zumba® at Erstagatan 1C
Are you looking for a new fun way to get moving outside? Come to one of Jenni’s Zumba classes. No prior experience in Zumba or dance is needed; all are welcome. Enjoy a choreographed class that’ll get your heart rate up. The price is 60 SEK per class. If you miss the first class, you’ll have the opportunity again on the 16th, 23rd, and 30th.

Smash x Stadion at Stockholm Stadion
This music festival includes some big names, like A$AP Rocky and Migos, and some newer breakthrough artists, such as Gunna and Saweetie. Tickets for one day are 725 SEK, and 1,250 SEK for both days.

The Ethics and Psychology of Social Media at Impact Hub Stockholm
Mamduh Halawa, the author of LIKE, will be the speaker at this event. Topics covered will include how social media affects our brains and how social media can alter human behavior.
Wednesday 3rd July
Matt Corby at Gröna Lund
Matt Corby, the Australian singer, is returning to Sweden! Tickets are the price of admission to the park, 120 SEK, unless you have the Green Card that grants you entrance to all of the summer concerts for 290 SEK.
Thursday 4th July
Discover Hagaparken
Every Thursday of July, you have the opportunity to go on a tour of northern Hagaparken for 120 SEK. There will be entertaining details, including information on the architects and the workers. Additional tours take place on the 11th, 18th, and 25th.
4th of July BBQ Sandwich Bonanza at Low & Slow Smokehouse
Low & Slow Smokehouse is celebrating their 3rd anniversary, and the last day before their summer vacation! Enjoy a meal, along with great tunes and great prices at the bar.
4th of July Beer Celebration at Nya Carnegiebryggeriet
If you like beer, this is the place to be for the 4th of July! Nya Carnegiebryggeriet will have specialty beers from Brooklyn Brewery, two new beer releases, and other varieties of beer. In addition to the many beverage options, there will be free face painting (for grown-ups and kids alike), both vegetarian and meat burger options, and a DJ on the outside terrace. Dress in red, white and blue to get into the 4th of July spirit!
Band of Horses at Gröna Lund
Celebrate the 4th of July by heading to Stockholm’s amusement park, and hearing one of America’s bands, Band of Horses. Tickets are 120 SEK, unless you have the Green Card.

Scandinavian International Fashion Week at Stockholm Stadshus
The first two days will be catwalk days, with fashion designers from all over the world showcasing their work. The ceremonies will take place on the final day. If you care about fashion, this will be an event to check out and follow.

Yarny, Medusa, and an Elephant Opening at ArkDes
Learn about the creative worlds behind computer and video games at this exhibit. You’ll have the opportunity to view sketchbooks, sculptures, and prototypes that aid in the process of creating your favorite electronic games. This exhibit will be open until 25th August.
Saturday 6th
Bowspring at AK Bowspring & Movement Medicine
The Bowspring Method is a style of yoga that strives to help with the natural posture and alignment of the spine. No yoga experience is required to take this class, and the instructor is able to teach in English if desired. Each class is 159 SEK and you can also attend on the 9th, 18th, and 20th of the month.
HIGHTS: Open Air at Fåfängan
Into techno music? This all day concert is for you. Head to Fåfängan for a line-up of DJs that includes both emerging acts and established ones. This is an open-air event and there will be great food and drink for sale. Go dance your face off!
Kamayan with Elle at Elle’s Kusina
This pop-up kitchen event will give you the chance to experience Filipino cuisine in the traditional way. Tickets are 399 SEK and the pop-up will also be held on the 13th, 20th, and 28th.
Vi Som Älskar 90-Talet at Zinkensdamms IP
If you loved the music from the 90’s (and who doesn’t?), this is the event for you! Aqua and Vengaboys will be among those performing. Come on Barbie, let’s go party! Tickets to the festival are 795 SEK.
Pink Party at Josefina
Get decked out in pink, and head to Josefina for a daytime party. There will be a live performance and a DJ.An ideal summer’s day!
Sunday 7th
Free Yoga in Vasaparken
Bring your own yoga mat, and enjoy a free yoga class every Sunday. We are always excited for free opportunities to practice yoga. If you miss the class on the 7th, you can also go on the 14th, 21st, and 28th of the month.
Stockholm’s Vis Festival at Kungsträdgården
This year is the 20th anniversary of the Vis Festival! They are celebrating with an extended festival and many guests. As usual, the festival will be led by Pierre Ström and Lolita Ray.
Tuesday 9th – Wednesday 10th July
After Beach: Mäckish With a Good Cause at Trädgården
Enjoy music, live DJ sets, art, food, drink, talks, and even a tattoo artist at this two day event in beautiful Trädgården. There will be a small market, and sales go towards organizations protecting the environment, including Amazonas (for the Amazonian Rainforest) and Östersjön (for the Baltic Sea). This event is free.
Tuesday 9th July
Cory Henry & The Funk Apostles at Slaktkyrkan
You may recognize Cory Henry as a former member of Snarky Puppy. He has gone on to work independently, with sounds of jazz, gospel, and R&B. The New Yorker is a talented singer, and has mastered many other instruments, including keyboard and the B3 organ. Tickets are 395 SEK.
Friday 12th and Saturday 13th July
M.I.T. Live at Kungsträdgården
During these two days, you will have a chance to eat Thai delicacies, taste Thai beer, shop handicrafts, and see a variety of stage performance (Thai dancing, a Thai rock band and martial arts demonstrations). Entrance is free.
Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th July
Traditional Reiki Healing Course at Västerorts Yoga & Rehab Center
Reiki healing is a healthcare method in which the therapist channels energy to activate the patient’ natural healing processes. This is a basic course that will result in a diploma showing that you have received the level 1 of Reiki Usui. The course is held in English and costs 2,000 SEK.
Saturday 13th July
Popaganda at Parkteatern, Galärparken
Grab a blanket and head to the park for a day of music. Nadja Evelina, Kårp, Prince Daniel, Stella Explorer, and Julia Clara will be performing. Entrance to this event is free.
Sunday 14th July
The Perks of Being a Wallflower at Sthlm Under Stjärnorna
Every Sunday evening of the summer, you can enjoy a free movie outside at Sthlm Under Stjärnorna. We are especially excited for The Perks of Being a Wallflower, about a socially awkward teen making friends and finding his first love. Other Sunday screenings this month include Black Cat, White Cat on the 7th, The Handmaiden on the 21st, and Call Me By Your Name on the 28th.
Tuesday 16th July
After Beach at Trädgården
This Tuesday’s After Beach session features DJs Jessie Granqvist and Martin Kling. If you haven’t made it to Trädgården yet, it’s worth a visit! The outdoor concert venue is located under the Skanstull bridge, there are food booths, and games to play, as well as dance areas.
Wednesday 17th July
Robots at Tekniska Museet
This exhibition from the Science Museum in London is beginning a world tour, and the first international stop is Stockholm. The exhibit will be available until 15th March 2020. It includes over 100 robots, with different abilities. In conjunction with the exhibit Robots, Tekniska will also have the exhibit Robot Zone, an interactive exhibit. Regular admission to Robots in 150 SEK; if you purchase tickets before the exhibit opens, you can get a 15% discount.
RoboThespian 3 robot actor, built by Engineered Arts Ltd, UK, 2016 (2016-0326) speaking at the press launch of “Robots”, an exhibition that reveals the astonishing 500-year quest to make machines human.
Saturday 20th July
Second World War Walk
On this hour and a half long walk, you will learn about Sweden’s part in the war, and the drama in Stockholm during this time. The price of the tour is 150 SEK per person.
Sunday 21st July
Big Trouble in Little China at Bio & Bistro Capital Stockholm
See Kurt Russell at his tank-top-wearing best in this classic John Carpenter film from 1986. Russell is Jack Burton, a trucker who dives into the underworld of San Fransisco’s Chinatown to rescue his friend’s fiancée. The film doesn’t make a lot of sense, but that’s not really the point; it’s 80s movie weirdness!
Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th July
Girls Will Make You Blush at Parkteatern, Galärparken
This performance is fast-paced and fun, and lets teenage girls be themselves! Entrance is free.

Wonderful Indonesia Festival at Kungsträdgården

Saturday 27th July
Gyllene Tider at Stockholms Stadion
This Swedish pop group had their first hit in 1980. What better time for them to go on tour than this “Sommartider?”

Rama Lama Records Third Birthday Party on a Secret Island
Well, we are certainly intrigued! The location of this party will be released to those with tickets the day before. The event will include music from bands that are covered by Rama Lama Records, volleyball, a place to swim, and food and beverages available for purchase. Tickets are 250 SEK.
Cacao Ceremony & Shamanic Flow at Pranama – The Center of The Great Heart
Cacao has a beneficial impact on the sacral and the heart chakras. In this guided transformative journey, you will drink a ceremonial cacao drink. In addition to the ceremonial cacao and the Shamanic Flow, there will also be medicine songs, storytelling and smoke smudge. A seat is 350 SEK.

Stockholm Pride
Join Scandinavia’s largest Pride celebration with concerts, shows, workshops, and debates. Icona Pop will perform Wednesday 31st July; on Tuesday 30th July, there will be a run. Ticket prices vary upon dates and events.

Shanti Loco in Simeå
Get out of the city for a five-day retreat, filled with yoga, movement, and Thai massage. The retreat is located in Simeå, a small town south of Järvsö, that can be reached by train. The retreat is 1,600 SEK.

Encountering the North at Waldemarsudde
This show presents painting and sculpture from Nordic and French artists during the period of 1880 – 1940, with special focus on Prince Eugen, Eugéne Jansson, Karl Nordström, and Anders Zorn. Regular admission to the museum is 150 SEK.
The Power and Feeling of Sculpture at Thielska Galleriet
To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Gustav Vigeland’s birth, Thielska will have an exhibit of his sculptures until 29th September. The sculptures are filled with deep emotion, and do not shy away from the challenges of life. Regular admission is 130 SEK.
A Way Away at the Ethnographic Museum
Enjoy this temporary exhibit that brings together photographs taken by Swedes all over the world, between the years 1862 and 2018. Thirty-six photographers contribute to this exhibit. Not all were professional photographers; some were writers or architects, seeing the world in their own way. All of the artists share a curiosity about the world and an interest in photography. Price of admission to this exhibit is 20 SEK.
Not the End at The Forum for Living History
Sixteen artists, from different backgrounds, have contributed art that interprets the Holocaust. The art includes crocheted works, paintings, photographs and sculptures. Entrance to the exhibit is free.

Arthur Jafa at Moderna Museet
Arthur Jafa is an American cinematographer. His work on “Daughters of the Dust” (1991) won him the “Best Cinematography” Award at Sundance. Jafa’s work focuses on Black American history. In this exhibit, Jafa has worked with photographer Ming Smith and visual artist Frida Orupabo, and has included content from Missylanyus’s YouTube channel. Admission to the exhibit is 150 SEK. Please note that this exhibit contains explicit violent images.
Guided Tours of the Chinese Pavilion at Drottningholms Palace Park
The Chinese Pavilion was a surprise birthday gift for Queen Lovisa Ulrika from King Adolf Fredrik in 1753. The original Chinese silks and wall coverings still remain in some of the rooms. Admission to the Chinese Pavilion is 100 SEK for an adult, or 200 SEK for admission to both the Chinese Pavilion and Drottningholm Castle.
Creations and Figures at Dans Museet
Arne Högsander started as a puppeteer in the 1960s, and has since become a well-known Swedish performer. His creations mix drama with subtle humor. Entrance to the museum is 120 SEK.
Insect Insight at Artipelag
Annika Liljedahl depicts insects’ struggles to survive in a world where humans negatively impact their environment. Music from composer Lo Kristenson accompanies the exhibit. Admission to this exhibit is 100 SEK.
Mats Bäcker at Stockholm Concert Hall
Bäcker began photographing in the 1970s, working with punk musicians. Over the past forty years, he has moved through different genres, and currently is working with opera and dance. The exhibit is in the Concert Hall’s foyer and entrance is free.
Dansbana! at ArkDes
Bring your smartphone, connect to the speakers, and start dancing. Dansbana! provides an outdoor dance floor for all to use. You are able to book time at Dansbana!, or just show up.
Sara Nielsen Bonde at Artipelag
This year’s recipient of the Fredrik Roo’s scholarship is Sara Nielsen Bonde from Denmark. Her artwork focuses on nature and culture. There is free admission to this exhibit.
