It’s June, and Copenhagen events are really picking up. It’s time for endless summer days filled with sunbathing, picnics, refreshing dips, and late night drinks under the open sky. June is the month with the longest days of the year, so let’s make the most of it.

From concerts and rooftop parties to film screenings and exhibitions, there’s plenty to do in the Danish capital!

Here are the best events in Copenhagen throughout June:

Monday 31st May – Friday 4th June

Green Impact Week

Green Impact Week is back, in a hybrid format combining online with physical events. Learn from industry experts, network with inspiring people, and take an active part in positioning Copenhagen as the capital of the Green Transition. Learn more and secure your spot via the website.

 

 


 

 
 

Wednesday 2nd June

Mags at Lille Vega

In autumn, Copenhagen-based singer-songwriter Mags released her debut album „mags“ – combining electronic scandi pop with painfully honest, autobiographical lyrics. Now she’s taking over Lille Vega, so get ready to dance, to sing along, to dwell on your own memories, and to fantasize about long summer nights out with friends. A Wednesday can’t get much better than that. There are still a few tickets left for the concert at 5:30 pm, the one at 8:30 pm is already sold out so you better be fast. Tickets cost 130 DKK.

 

 

 
 

Thursday 3rd – Sunday 13th June

Copenhagen Photo Festival

Copenhagen Photo Festival is the largest photo festival in the Nordic region with 250 Danish and foreign photographers contributing each year. Experience talks, workshops, exhibitions, DJ sets, and much more at the festival centre on Refshaleøen. Friday 4th June

Friday party at Huset KBH’s Spisehuset

Celebrate the beginning of summer (and the end of the work week) from 6 pm. Spisehuset invites all dining guests to an open bar from 7 to 8 pm, cheers to that!

 

 

 
 

Ary & Friends at Copenhagen Distillery

You might know Copenhagen Distillery from their whisky, gin, or aquavit, but they are also hosting events in their distillery. Grab your friends and swing by for a garden party with cold drinks and good music by DJs Ary, JVC, and TAIS. Entry is free but due to Covid-19, attendance is limited to 75 people so come early. From 3-10 pm.

 

 


 

 
 

Μεζεδοπωλείο – Wine with Bites by Oinofilia and Nørrebro Kolonial

Greek wine and light mezes in KoncertKirken’s cosy backyard just off Blåggårds Plads sound like the perfect combination for an early summer Friday. Maria W. B. Tsalapati (from Oinofilia) and Laetitia Piccirillo (from Nørrebro Kolonial) will be joining forces to bring mediterranean treats and hopefully sunshine to Copenhagen. Come by for a glass and a bite from 3-8pm.

 

 


 

 
 

Saturday 5th June

Denmark’s Constitution Day

Grundlovsdag, the Danish Constitution Day, celebrates the 1849 signing of the original Constitution, and with it the end of the absolute monarchy, as well as the adoption of the current 1953 Constitution. Offices are closed and many businesses will be only open until noon, if at all – the perfect opportunity to spend a summer day with loved ones or to enjoy some solitude.

 

 

 
 

Copenhagen Harbour Parade

A floating parade in Copenhagen’s harbor? Ja, tak! Come and join to witness this spectacle from the shore or even by boat. The parade starts in Sydhavnen at 1 pm.

 

 


 

 
 

Nimb Roof Sunset Sessions

Dance into the sunset when DJ Henri Matisse takes over Nimb’s rooftop terrace. Grab a drink and enjoy the view from 7 to 10:30 pm. Tickets cost 300 DKK and include one cocktail. Can’t make it? There will be a other edition with DJ Maria Barfod on 19th June.

 

 


 

 
 

Tuesday 8th June

Danish Academic Job Fair

Are you graduating this summer, or did you finish your education recently? Then this virtual career fair is for you! A joint effort by all Danish universities, this fair brings together employers from different industries. Get an overview over the Danish job market, hear about interesting opportunities, and maybe even land your dream job. From 2-4 pm.

 

 

 
 

Wednesday 9th – Sunday 13th June

Silent Movie Festival at Cinemateket

Cinemateket is putting the spotlight on a genre that many aren’t that familiar with – silent movies. From Wednesday to Sunday, it will present some of the great classics as well as lesser known works and rediscovered gems. Check out the full selection of films on the website.

 


 

 
 

Saturday 12th – Sunday 13th June

Basics of Woodworking with The Woodworking Club

Looking to acquire a new hobby or to turn that furniture dream into reality? Learn the basics of woodworking in this weekend course, in small groups and hands on. Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm. Find more information as well as dates for future weekend courses, such as from 19th to 20th June, on the website. And if you want to dive a little deeper, The Woodworking Club will be offering a Woodworking Summer School from 5th to 16th July.

 

 

 
 

Saturday 12th June

Ecstatic Dance in Fælledparken

Experience dancing as moving meditation at this outdoor event in Fælledparken. DJ Grundstoff will serve a variety of tunes with influences from South America, Balkan, and even from movie soundtracks. The event takes place from 1-3:30 on a pay-as-you-like basis.

 


 
 

SydhavnsGade: Second Wave & Jonas Visti at Byhaven Pumpehuset

SydhavnsGade is back: Get ready for a good time and enjoy cold draft beers, good music, and great company in Pumpehuset’s cosy outdoor venue. Behind the decks will be Second Wave, serving everything from Polish funk to Danish bossa nova, and Jonas Visti who will share some favorites from his vinyl collection. From 5-11 pm, entry is free.

 

 

 
 

Wednesday 16th June

The Caribbean Housewife Roast Dinner

On June 16, The Caribbean Housewife opens the summer season with “The Housewife Roast” dinner at Pladefabrikken in Nordvest with DJ Grey, a.k.a. Morten Brask. If you can’t make it, you can catch her at Spisehuset on June 23 or June 30 in Kødbyen. Tickets for the fantastic four course dinner must be booked in advanced. Seating is limited and these tickets go fast, so book yours soon!

 

 
 

Spanish Cinema Nights at Husets Biograf: Torremolinos 73

Brush up your Spanish or simply dive into the world of Spanish cinema in this series at Husets Biograf. Directed by Pablo Berger and set in 1973, Torremolinos 73 even features a few Scandinavian household names: It stars none other than Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen who plays a member of a Danish film crew that flies to Spain to help main character Alfredo Lopez make the film Torremolinos 73 – taking inspiration from iconic Swedish filmmaker Ingmar Bergman. Doors open at 6:30 pm and the movie is screened (with English subtitles) at 7:30 pm.

 

 


 

 
 

Croquis – Life Drawing at Absalon

Let your inner artist come out and play! Absalon is hosting a Life Drawing session. You’ll be sketching a model in various poses, with varying amounts of time to draw each one, and a couple of small breaks in between. All you need are paper and drawing equipment, no experience required. The event starts at 8 pm and tickets cost 70 DKK.

 

 

 
 

Music In Crisis Pt. 2 at Store Vega

Knife Magazine and Posh Isolation present an evening with Astrid Sonne, Lust For Youth, Varg 2TM, and Malika Mahmoud. The title “Music In Crisis” is a reference to the state of the music industry and the existential crisis that the pandemic has brought over many artists. But the event is also a celebration of the power of music and the way it can help us through tough times. Doors open at 7 pm and the concert starts at 8 pm. Tickets cost 235 DKK.

The Wizard of Oz at Husets Biograf

(Re-)watch one of the greatest American musicals of all time, „The Wizard of Oz“, at Husets Biograf. Door open at 6:30 pm and the film starts at 7:30 pm.

 

 

 
 

Saturday 19th – Friday 25th June

The Perfect, Unperfect” Exhibition at Framing People

Jægersborggade frame shop Framing People will be exhibiting a collection of portraits by Danish photographer Elisabeth Eibye. The 12 portraits feature children with Down’s Syndrome and other developmental disabilities. All the portraits will be available for auction, with 100% of proceeds going to Lykkeliga, a non-profit that supports children with disabilities.

 
 

Saturday 19th June

Drag in Space at Store Vega

Join the party when an intergalactic lineup takes over Store Vega for an out-of-this-world drag show. From 7 to 11 pm, tickets cost 250 DKK.

 

 


 

 
 

Wednesday 23rd June

Sankt Hans Aften

Celebrate the summer solstice and the feast of Saint John the Baptist by joining one of the traditional bonfire parties. The most popular spots can be found here. Enjoy a beautiful, (hopefully) warm night!

 

 

 
 

Friday 25th June – Thursday 1st July

Coco O. at Hotel Cecil

You might know Coco O. from electronic soul duo Quadron – now the Danish singer is performing her debut album It’s A Process at Hotel Cecil. Swing by for your dose of R&B from 7 pm, every day from Friday to Thursday. Tickets cost 330 DKK and can be pre-bought via Billetto.

 

 


 

 
 

Saturday 26th June

Sustainable Crafts Pop-up

Enjoy browsing an arts and crafts pop-up at Kulturhuset Indre By from 5 – 9 pm. All of the brands are focused on sustainability, whether that be recycled items, upcycled items, or another method of material reuse. There will be drinks available for sale, so grab a cold drink and pick up some beautiful art and homemade products for your home or as gifts!

 
 

Tuesday 29th June

Clarice Lispector: The Hour of the Star – talk & film at Cinemateket

On 10th December 2020, Brazilian author Clarice Lispector would have turned 100 years. The celebration was postponed due to the lockdown but now’s the day: In collaboration with the Brazilian Embassy, Cinemateket is presenting an evening dedicated to her literary career. Her celebrated book The Hour of the Star puts the spotlight on 19-year orphan Macabea who moves to Rio de Janeiro and with her on a class that was often overlooked. Cinemateket will be screening Suzana Amaral’s adaptation combined with talks by translator Tine Prado and Associate Professor of Literary Studies Elisabeth Friis. The film will be screened with English subtitles but the talks will be in English. From 7-9:30 pm, tickets cost 95 DKK.

 

 

 
 

Wednesday 30th June

Classical summer concert with Poseidonkvartet at Nordatlantens Brygge

Enjoy a classical concert under the open summer sky. Poseidonkvartet performs everything from Haydn to Schubert at Nordatlantens Brygge. The quartet is named after the Greek god of the sea, Poseidon, so what better spot for a concert than next to the water? From 5-6 pm.
