If the end of the year has got you dragging your feet, we feel you. But for those in Copenhagen, you can get excited about 2017 with a few of these new spots, opened in 2016 and sure to have their moment in the new year.
Copenhagen doesn’t react to restaurants opening like, say, New York City or London do. There’s often no grand opening party or big announcement; restaurants and stores just open and do their thing, hoping that word of mouth and a bit of luck will get them on the map.
It’s been a rough year in many ways, but here to make you feel a little better are our favorite new restaurants and shops around Copenhagen:

Hafnia
Opened in March, Hafnia has quickly become a healthy favorite in the centre of the city. Serving up bowls of fresh vegetables and grains, as well as delicious juices, Hafnia is an Australian-style cafe. Check out their brunch for a real treat!

Restaurant Havfruen
This spot isn’t exactly new – in fact, it’s very old – but it’s been taken over and completely refurbished by the team behind the popular cafe Atelier September. Bringing quality to what has lately been a tourist strip, Havfruen has an inventive lunch and dinner menu, a spot overlooking the harbor and a liquor cabinet that includes Nikka Whiskey. What better way to enjoy a meal or quick drink in one of Copenhagen’s most beloved neighborhoods?
